Policies & FAQs

Q. Where is The STUDIO at NAKAI located?*

A: We are located on the second floor the William S. Torrie heritage building on 48 Bonaccord Street in Downtown Moncton, which also houses NAKAI Spa and Salon and LOLI Cafè & Lounge.

Q: What do I wear to a class?*

A: Join us with your most comfortable athletic wear that makes it easy for you to stretch and move. For example, leggings or shorts and a sports bra and t-shirt. All classes are given barefoot.

Q: What do I bring to class?*

A: We offer complimentary water but suggest you bring your own water bottle. Aside from your athletic wear, we hope you come to class with an open mind. We do have some equipment available, but you are welcome to bring your own mats, bolsters and blocks.

Q: What equipment is used?

A: We take great pride in the brands we work with and the equipment we offer. Our mats and straps are from Jade Yoga and are made in North America. Bolsters are custom made in Canada for our guests by Love My Mat and our high-density blocks are made from top-quality cork. The instructor will let you know at the beginning of class what equipment is needed. If you love it as much as we do and want to purchase equipment for your home practice, it will be available in the retail area beside the NAKAI front desk.

Q: Are walk-ins accepted?*

A: Walk-ins are welcome to join if the spots aren’t filled up yet. If you are new to The STUDIO at NAKAI, we can’t wait to meet you and give you a tour. You will need to check in at NAKAI Reception where our Guest Care team will be waiting to assist with setting up a class that is right for you, whether that is purchasing a single session or joining our growing membership community.

Q: What if I signed up for a class and can no longer make it?

A: We understand that schedules change and emergencies happen. Please understand that we set up our classes based on our reservations. We will also often have waiting lists for classes when they are full. Our Cancellation Policy is that if you are no longer able to attend a reserved class, you must cancel at least 3 hours before the class or it will be deemed a ‘no-show’.

If you have an Unlimited Membership (1 month, 6 months, 12 months) and you are unable to make it to a class that you signed up for, please ensure you cancel your reservation within the cancellation policy. For every ‘no show’ within your membership you will be charged $10.

If you have purchased a 10 Class Pass or a Drop-In Class and you ‘no-show’, the class will be removed from your account as if you attended and no credit or refund will be provided.

Q. How do I book a class?*

We use a software called Momo. Once you have created a profile, you can book a class directly through the software, as well as manage your membership details. Momo can be accessed through a webpage on any device, including a computer, mobile phone, or tablet.

Q: How big is the space?

A: The STUDIO at NAKAI is bright, open, and spacious with a capacity for 12-16 guests, depending on the style of class or event happening. We also have a relaxation area where guests can socialize before and after class, with access to washrooms and a change area.

Q: Is it wheelchair accessible?

A: The STUDIO at NAKAI is located on the second floor which can only be accessed by stairs. We do apologize for the inconvenience but are more than happy to discuss how we can potentially still offer you our adapted services. Contact our Guest Care for more details.

Q: Are classes beginner-friendly?*

A: Whether you are an expert or a beginner, you are able to attend all of our classes. Inclusivity is very important to us, which is why we have carefully designed our classes so that they can be adapted to match your level of experience and fitness. Throughout the class, our instructors will give variations and modifications of positions that best suits you.

Q: Are there showers?

A: No, this is not a heated studio and although you will still generate body heat, there will be time to cool down prior to leaving The STUDIO at NAKAI.
