Kamissa Nouasri
Meet Kamissa, also known as Kiki, a passionate and experienced yoga teacher. Her yoga journey began in her teens when she discovered the soothing effects of the practice on her mind and body. In 2017, Kamissa became a certified instructor through Karma Teachers in Toronto, specializing in Vinyasa/Flow, Yin, Restorative, and Meditation. With her diverse training, Kamissa offers a well-rounded and transformative yoga experience for students of all levels. Her classes emphasize mindfulness, self-awareness, and creating a nurturing space for personal growth. Join Kamissa on the mat and embark on a journey of balance, peace, and self-discovery.
Cathy Manuel
In 2013, Cathy discovered the power of yoga while preparing for her first triathlon, where it was incorporated into her training for mental and physical endurance. Witnessing significant improvements in both areas, she became captivated by its benefits. For Cathy, yoga serves as a sanctuary for her restless ADHD mind, leading her to a state of tranquility, focus, trust, and stillness, while nurturing her body, mind, and soul. Motivated to share this liberating experience, she obtained her 200-hour YTT certification in January 2018, and has expanded her training to include Yin, Trauma Informed, and Mindfulness. Passionate about teaching, Cathy specializes in Vinyasa, Power Flow, and Yin infusing her sessions with creativity and infectious enthusiasm.
Jacynte Leger
Jacynte Leger has been a yoga teacher & wellness advocate since 2009. Her desire to find physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual balance in her own life began when she was 20, this is what led her to yoga and her wellness journey. Since her first yoga certification in 2009, she’s continued her education in different styles and applications of yoga such as: Kundalini Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Thai Yoga massage, EFT and mindset work. Being on the mat as a teacher and a student brings her so much joy. She cannot wait to share yoga with you!
Courtney Amo
Courtney Amo is a bilingual, certified 500-Hour Yoga Instructor (2003, 2017) and has been practicing yoga since 1999. She is also a retreat leader, a coach, and an author. She is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast.
Courtney taught Yoga professionally at various Ottawa studios from 2004-2010. She has been teaching Yoga in Moncton, NB since 2010. In 2017, Courtney pursued further studies in India with Himalayan Yoga Master Yogrishi Vishvketu, and became a certified Akhanda Yoga Teacher.
Courtney’s desire to support students of all shapes and sizes benefit from the teachings of Yoga stems from her own struggles with weight and body image since childhood. Yoga has given her permission to embrace, enjoy and improve her body for the sake of a happy, active and healthy life.
Ayla Nouasri
Alya has been a practitioner of yoga for many years. She completed her 200h yoga teacher training through Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training in 2019. We practice to connect the physical, emotional and spiritual body through meditation. A guiding light in the chaos of the world to come home to the self over and over. Alya is known for her authentic non-judgemental every body classes. She offers creative sequencing, suggests many variations, while integrating a variety of props to help you experience postures in your unique body in a safe and effective manner. Her playfulness shines through her mindful teachings weaving wisdom into the class in bite sized chunks.
Vaish Vemireddy
Vaish Vemireddy was born and raised in India. She moved to Canada in 2018 to pursue her MBA in Halifax and currently works for a corporation in Moncton. While in Halifax, especially during Covid lockdowns, she volunteered to teach yoga to her friends and classmates to promote holistic wellbeing. Growing up in India, she believes yoga as a way of life more than physical postures. As a certified yoga instructor, she is passionate about helping people to find balance and wellness through the transformative practices of yoga including postures, breathing practices, meditations, mindful movements, etc. She believes in making yoga accessible and enjoyable to everyone regardless of their experience level. Through this role as yoga instructor at The STUDIO at NAKAI, she is eager to continue to promote the benefits of yoga beyond the physical, from stress relief to spiritual growth and positively impact the lives of communities around us.
Trish LeClair
Trish found her yoga practice evolving during a particularly difficult and emotional time in her life back in 2010. After two years of daily practice at a local studio she knew she had to share her experience with others. After taking her Pilates teacher certification she knew that she wanted more. Trish completed her 200hour certification in the Kripalu Lineage in 2014 and her children’s yoga teacher certification the same year. Since then she has taken many teacher trainings in addictions, trauma, restorative yoga, sound healing, energy healing, chakra yoga specialization, and then in 2020 completed her 500 hours teacher certification specializing in vinyasa, adjustments and chakras. She has taught thousands of hours since her teacher journey began and has an active home studio and teaches preschool age children in child care centers through the school year. She is excited to be a part of a group of inspiring yoga teachers and SHARE MORE YOGA on and off the mat!!
Josette Lebanc
Josette is from a fitness background and has been a fitness instructor for 20+ years. She was first introduced to hot yoga by a friend, and started practicing more seriously in 2011 and found that the more frequently she attended classes, the more she yearned for something deeper out of her practice. After receiving her 220 hrs certification from Yoga Inc. in May of 2015, Josette went on to teach Hatha and Vinyasa style yoga with special interests in basic alignment and yoga assists. She hopes for students to leave her classes feeling deeply connected to their bodies, and most of all, feeling Alive!
